Human

I wish I know

what I was put

into this Earth

to unfold

like a bee

is always searching

for honey

like the sea

wishes her mermaids

would never leave

maybe human are both

the bee and the honey

the sky and the sea

some of us can ride on the giant waves

but our hearts only beat the same way.

(I should stop asking questions and just do.)

Animal Lover

I wish I knew how it felt

to be trapped and caged

to have your babies taken away

to see your friends disappear day by day

I wish I knew how it felt

to be “saved” by human

but you never saw the Sun again

I wish I knew how it felt

to be watched, and wired

and be tested on, and died

I wish I knew how it felt

to be force fed

and eaten like a luxury

what am I, a chopped liver?

called myself an animal lover

but still, I take your lives

instead of saving them.

t.l.

Indecision

would you jump

if you know the water is shallow

would you do it

if the waves will swallow

the idea of who you are

you wanted to stand tall

pushing people away

building walls after walls

do you recall

the last time someone

begged you to stay

at the end this was all hollow

all these sadness, all these rage

you’re better off dancing solo

“leave me alone, come back please”

you jumped from this mountain

to another, hoping to see

those rare flowers

to deem yourself worthy.

t.l.

(make your own mind up)

Writer

Are you a writer

write something then

send me a poem

then maybe we can be friends

Are you a writer

where is your book

are you working

or hiding from everyone’s look

Are you a writer?

do you make money

out of these pointless lines

bring home the honey

or stop wasting your life

Are you a writer

a poet, a mind wanderer

do you write because you need to

or do you write because

nobody can stop you

Are you a writer

or are you only human

who tries to make this world

a little brighter?

t.l.

Pride

the Sun is setting

burning the cloudless blue sky

leaving its reddish marks

are you leaving

can’t you wait one more night

until that train embarks

can’t you see how much you shine

how you sparkle, and the lights

were embarrassed to be around you

have pride in what you do

take mine if you want that too

don’t end it, don’t go quietly

let us be proud with you.

t.l.

For all the people who struggle with your sexuality. For all the lost souls who have decided to leave this Earth. We are stronger together. It’s hard now but it will get better.

Who

when you die

who would cry in silence

and who would smile

behind those curtains

who would try

to picture you still alive

who would deny

your own very existence

who would sign

and move on with their life

who would wonder why

and pray for you every night

who would come

to say goodbye

who would remember

all the lies

who would say

I’m glad she died

who would hope

you’d come back

as a butterfly.

t.l.

paper

you’re a piece of white paper

born naive and transparent

you could create your own character

one day you’re the cinnamon bun

and the next a psychopathic nun

you’re a piece of white paper

people thought you came from

those bamboos near the river

they tried to soak you in ink

drain you out, make you wither

paper-thin but sharp like a knife

your skin is made from a hemlock twig

they burned you down in the forest fire

but you will rise once again

in the afterlife.

t.l.

electromagnetic waves

deaths are upon us

everything dies

for new things to arrive

our graves give life

to the flowers and the trees

to the air that we breathe

to the fishes in the sea

we can’t deny death

nor death can take us away

from who we are

and what we want to say

Asian, Latino, Black

why all these attacks?

since when do colours

have rankings and grades

aren’t we all the shades

in the Sun’s electromagnetic waves.

t.l.

stop the hate crime now.
